Currently working on John Adams. It definitely pulls you in much more quickly and deeply than it seems like it would. Great list.

It seems like you owe a debt to Doug Wilson for your spiritual growth and maturity. What critiques would you have of him or his theology?

Nothing comes to mind immediately, though I'm obviously not the most objective person to ask. However, I'm still not a full Calvinist or a Pedobaptist.

I think R.C. Sproul would take 'issue' with the statement, 'not a full Calvinist.' Regardless, is your faith primarily influenced by a Western-European worldview and/or an American-centric view of Christianity? Have you considered or read what global Christianity has to offer?

I've read pretty widely, including touching on Eastern movements.

I come from a Restoration movement tradition, springing out of the Second Great Awakening. It's a niche movement, and most others accuse us of believing in baptismal regeneration. Which is part of what drew me more to Wilson's flavor of Calvinism and their attempts to take reconcile the apostasy and baptism passages.

But of course I'm very Americanized. That's the water I swim in.

What minority voices, if any, inform your theology?

Just read the Four Hour Workweek and found the paradigm interesting. You mention you’d now point people elsewhere; where would you point someone interested in similar ideas (online business, alternative income streams, etc.) now?

It would depend on the direction. In terms of mindset, I think it's fine, though simplistic and unrealistic. It paints much too rosy of a picture.

You'd be better off with specific online courses about specifics, like traffic and ecommerce. Russell Brunson's books get some flack, but they are great for absolute beginners, but you don't want to go full Brunson. Read some of BowTiedBull's stuff and his recommendations for ecommerce and realistic expectations for the work involved.

Trial and error is the best teacher.

Thanks! I'll check those out and not discount my own trial and error.

Love N.T. Wright! He has given me a robust understanding of the first advent of Christ as well as a more positive eschatology. Also enjoyed John Adams - agree that it gives a better understanding of that period (as do all well-written biographies). C.S. Lewis' Mere Christianity helped bring my back to faith - but I also enjoyed the space trilogy. Have read 4 Day Workweek -- didn't really buy it. Thanks for the list - I'll add some of these to "Need to read"

Here's another biography suggestion: All four books by Robert Caro on LBJ. Although I think he was not a good president nor a good man, Caro does an excellent job of fleshing out his deeply-flawed character as well as giving a great overview of USA mid-twentieth century history.
